Prayer, weeping and reflections adorn the 10th anniversary of the tsunami that struck Asia. Warning was conducted in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Somalia.
December 26, 2004, an earthquake measuring 9.3 on the Richter scale (SR) rocked Aceh. Not long after that, a giant sea waves swept coastal areas from 14 countries. Worst hit areas appear in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Somalia.
Most of the victims are thousands of foreign tourists who enjoy the Christmas celebrations around Asia. This tragedy soon shake the world, after it was revealed approximately 250 thousand people were killed by the tsunami.
The 10th anniversary of the tsunami tragedy not only take place in Indonesia. Vice President Jusuf Kalla led warning in Banda Aceh and describe what happens when high waves hit.
Vice President calls cries burst when it, along with confusion, shock, fear and suffering. But do not forget to hold dihaturkan prayer.
Celebrations also took place in Thailand, where approximately 5,300 people were killed. The warning was made at a memorial in the village of Ban Nam Khem flat when the wave hit.
