VALENCIA - Valencia would put away the fan who threw a plastic bottle to Barcelona striker Lionel Messi when the two teams clash at the Mestalla Stadium in La Liga. This policy will be applied as soon as the person is identified.

"Valencia CF regret and condemn the incident in a match against FC Barcelona. Where water bottle without a cap thrown from the stands to the opposing player Lionel Messi," Valencia said on their official website, as quoted by Reuters on Monday.
"The club will try to find the person who threw the bottle and they will be forbidden to attend the Mestalla," the statement added.
Valencia insists they implement the policy of zero tolerance for such actions. The club promised to uphold all the security measures established by law strictly.
Barca's 1-0 victory made them back to second place, two points behind Real Madrid.
